POST: Submitting Your RSS Feed to Podcasting Platforms

Listing your podcast across all the major platforms is crucial for maximizing listenership and discoverability. Submitting your RSS feed to platforms from Apple Podcasts to Spotify ensures your show is accessible wherever audiences look. By distributing your content widely, you'll reach more potential subscribers and grow your listener base efficiently.

The first step is to create your RSS feed and publish at least one episode to the feed. Then, follow the instructions below for submitting it to some of the major podcasting platforms. You can find the URL of your RSS feed in the Setup section of POST. Click on the link icon to copy the URL.

Apple Podcasts

Create an account or log into Apple Podcasts Connect.  Follow Apple's directions to submit an RSS feed.

YouTube Music (formerly Google Podcasts)

Start here and select "Create a Podcast." If you don't already have a YouTube channel, you will be prompted to create one, and then you will be taken to YouTube Studio. Follow these instructions to create a new podcast in YouTube Studio.

Visit Spotify for Podcasters and click the "Get Started" button.  Click the button to indicate, "I have a podcast."

Next, click the button to select that your podcast is hosted "Somewhere else."

After that, you will log into Spotify or create an account.  Click the "Get Started" button, and you will be prompted to enter your RSS feed URL.

Click "Next".  You will be prompted to verify you are the show owner with a verification code.  Then, continue through all the steps to input your show's information.

Once submitted, Spotify typically verifies all new podcasts within 24 hours. At the end of the submission process, they will provide you with a link to your new show, which you can use to verify once your episodes are posted. If you have any trouble, contact Spotify Support.

Amazon Music/Audible

Click here to set up your Podcast at Amazon Music. You’ll find Amazon’s FAQ and other guidance for setting up your podcast. Click "Add or Claim Your Podcast" to get started.

NOTE: Amazon Music will review your podcast, and if it is chosen, it will be available on Audible as well.

You will be prompted to log into your Amazon account, and then you can enter your RSS feed from POST.  Click "Submit."

You will be asked to submit the terms and conditions and verify your podcast by clicking a link, and they will email you.

Once you click the email link, you are all set. However, it may take up to 24 hours for your podcast to appear in Amazon Music and Audible search results.
