Futuri Mobile has a traffic feature available for News/Talk stations, powered by Google Maps.
With the Traffic feature, users will be able to select a start/end point, see an estimated duration, and see which spots have heavy traffic (in red), some traffic (in orange), or light/no traffic (in green). The user can then open turn-by-turn navigation in their device's default maps app.
When you first set up your Initial App Setup form in the Futuri Control Room, you'll be prompted for a default map location, which will be used if the device's location can not be determined. You can provide either an address or latitude/longitude coordinates.
If you need to change this default map location later, you can change this in the Futuri Control Room under Mobile App Talk Features > Traffic.
Futuri Mobile's Traffic feature can be used whether the user allows the app to access his/her location or not, but he/she will only be able to get traffic data from the device's current location if location services have been accepted in the app. Turn-by-turn navigation is handled by the user's maps app, not by your station's app, so as long as the user has allowed location services for his/her maps app, he/she will be able to use turn-by-turn navigation.
If a user has previously disabled location features and wants to enable them for this feature, he/she can tap the message at the bottom of the app's home screen that says "Your geolocation is disabled. Tap here to enable geolocation" and follow the resulting prompts.
