Gen4 Transmitters

Internet Connection Setup

To connect your transmitter to the internet, follow the instructions below depending on your model. 

Static IP Setup 

It is highly recommended that you set up a Static IP address for your transmitter.

1. Connect a keyboard, mouse, and widescreen monitor to the appliance or use the touchscreen (MST only).

NOTE:  If using a KVM, optimal performance cannot be guaranteed with all models.  If your unit does not boot up with a KVM attached, try removing it before powering on.

2. Click on the grey gear icon.

3. On the “Network” tab, under “ETH1 (INTERNET), click on “DHCP” to turn it off.

4. Click on “IP” to enter the static IP address.

5. Scroll down and click on “DHCP Default Gateway” under “ROUTING” to turn it off.

6. Click “Default Gateway” to enter the IP address of the gateway.

7. Click the “Save” button at the top.

8. You will now be able to access this menu at http://<ip address of the appliance>:3000

Gen3 Transmitters

Internet Connection Setup

To connect your transmitter to the internet, follow the instructions below. 

The transmitter has two onboard NICs.  

• The Eth1 (priority) port should be used for the internet connection that will carry the stream to the Futuri servers. We recommend a dedicated network link or a router with QoS so you can ensure adequate bandwidth is reserved for the stream.
• The Eth2 port should be used to connect to your automation network if it differs from the network attached to the Eth1.  Some automation systems require a static IP address to be assigned for the Now Playing data to work effectively.

Note: Both NICs are set to DHCP by default.

Static IP Setup 

It is highly recommended that you set up a Static IP address for your transmitter.

Confirm that your transmitter is connected to the same network as your automation system. If your Streaming transmitter was shipped in the spring of 2016 of later you can contact Futuri Support to set a Static IP address remotely, or you can set up and configure it on your own using the instructions provided.

STEP	ACTION
1	Connect a keyboard and monitor to the back of your Streaming transmitter, and choose "Option 12" for the Network Configuration.
2	From the Network Configuration screen, choose the network to configure and assign the Static IP address to the network that is connected to your automation system. Once you have made your selection, Click "OK" to continue.
3	The next screen, "FreeBSD Installer," will ask you to use "DHCP" for the chosen network. In order to configure the Static IP Address, select "No" to continue.
4	Enter the "Static IP" address you want to assign, including your subnet and gateway, and click "OK" to return to the Main Menu.
5	From the Main Menu, select "Option 10" to reboot the transmitter. Rebooting the transmitter brings the transmitter back online with the newly assigned IP address.  If, for any reason, Option 10 does not result in a transmitter reboot, you can perform a "Hard Reset" by unplugging the transmitter, wait 10 seconds, and plugging the transmitter back in again.	Note: If the streaming transmitter is not able to connect to the internet once you have configured the IP address and rebooted, that likely indicates that there is a typo in the configuration. You can repeat the steps above to correct any typos, and/or contact Futuri VIP Support for an appointment with one of the Streaming Engineers to investigate further.
